Condomium building in old Toronto

This study and Committee of Adjustment application is for a new condo building and the preservation and conversion of a row of historically important 19th century buildings.

Zoning would have allowed a chunky 10 storey block filling the entire site. Instead, in deference to the row of brick buildings on Adelaide, the city was convinced to allow density to be transfered to the north edge of the site. Here a slim glass slab was placed on a u-shaped base, creating a modest courtyard between it and the historic buildings. Approved at Committee of Adjustment.
